Lene Marlin, a singer from Norway made her first visit to Beijing promoting her latest album, Lost in a Moment on October 25.
Marlin hit the music scene staying on top of Norway's charts for eight weeks with her single Unforgivable Sinner, which became one of the quickest and highest selling singles in the Scandinavian country's history. Her follow-up single Sitting Down won her massive popularity throughout Asia and the title of "most popular artist" from North Europe at the European MTV awards.
Her third album has adhered to Marlin's style characterized by the silvery voice, and melodies similar to those of Sheryl Crow. The purity of her voice and an unrestricted spirit remain the mainstay for the 24-year-old as she tries to get back the inspiration so apparent on her first album.
"This album is my most private in which I want to find what inspired me on the first album. I want more peace and free space. This is a true confession of my own feelings without any reference to other people," explained Marlin. She is only just beginning to gain a clear understanding of how popular she is in China, with the re-workings of her singles, including Sitting Down Here, by Chinese singers in Taiwan and Hong Kong, helping the slim-figured beauty capture Chinese fans' hearts.
